With severely low haemoglobin levels and no access to medical care, her condition was critical. But like many in her community, she was unaware of the severity and hesitant to seek help.
In Amtola village, Assam, a routine home visit by ASHA worker Baroda Das Kalita changed the course of Ila Das’ third pregnancy. Severely anaemic and physically weak, Ila was identified as a high-risk case, putting both her and her baby at serious risk.
