Xushrukha

Xushrukha is a pilot project on early identification & management of high-risk pregnancies (HRP) with a goal to reduce Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR). It is a research-based program launched with the National Health Mission, Assam in collaboration with Kamrup rural district authorities to address MMR in 3 blocks of the district.

This program aims to support the state and district health authorities in early identification and counselling of at-risk women in the eligible couple category, during pre and antenatal phases. Through our Utprerona App, ASHA workers can effectively register, monitor and follow-up on HRP cases and facilitate timely referrals for specialised care.

Components:

  • Digital job-aid and capacity-building sessions for frontline workers
  • Timely follow-ups and referrals of HRP cases
  • Targeted Counselling on Family Planning for identified high risk beneficiaries by ASHAs

By adopting a Continuum of Care approach, we witness an increase in institutional deliveries, improved Antenatal Care (ANC) registrations and adoption of family planning methods by the community.

Core Services: Digital Job Aid for FLW’s | Identification of High-Risk Pregnancy Cases | Targeted Family Planning | Digital training to use Utprerona app

Digital knowledge of 694 ASHAs will be enhanced as part of this program.
