Bihar has pioneered the use of Scan and Share technology – a crucial component of ABDM. In just 6 months, the state generated over 40 lakh tokens for OPD registration, saving patients thousands of hours.
Prior to our intervention, we witnessed long queues at government health facilities. Patients had to wait for a whole day before receiving critical medical attention leading to a poor patient experience.
To enhance service delivery, our team has enabled Scan and Share facility at hospitals for faster OPD registration. Patients scan the ABDM QR code which generates their electronic health records (EHR) on the ABHA app. EHRs are directly accessible to doctors, lab technicians and pharmacists thus reducing waiting time and paperwork.
We are motivated by the contribution of our Gandhi Fellows in advancing ABDM. Dheeraj Kumar Jangid, Batch 16 Gandi Fellow shares his thoughts:
“I am grateful for the opportunity to support the ABDM interventions in Sheikhpura. The team has played a crucial role in the growth of ABDM and in my own growth. I have developed key skills in project management and stakeholder management! It has been a rewarding experience!”
This case is a powerful illustration of how collaboration, innovation and a shared vision can catalyze change.
