The story of Swati (name changed), a concerned citizen from Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh, throws light on how our Health Online Parameter Evaluation (HOPE) centre saves lives by facilitating prompt decisions in the time of crisis.
Swati saw a pregnant woman in need of urgent assistance in front of the District Women Hospital (DWH) Jalaun. Unable to get immediate medical attention, she tried contacting the Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS), but did not receive a positive response.
She recognized the situation’s urgency and contacted HOPE for assistance.
Swati narrates the conversation:
“I was very concerned for the pregnant lady and was relieved when the HOPE executive immediately responded. He noted down all the details and acknowledged the emergency. I was so impressed when he instantly verified my description of the situation through the live CCTV footage. He escalated the issue to the relevant authorities for immediate medical support to the pregnant woman.”
When contacted by HOPE, the CMS responded promptly and sent the requisite staff to the DWH. This intervention led to a successful delivery of the pregnant woman.
This story underscores how data democracy, fostered by these Command and Control Centres, ensures that the right information reaches the right people, at the right time.
