ESIC interventions enable women to access maternity benefits

We conduct capacity-building sessions among organizations to increase awareness about ESIC and boost its digital adoption.

One success story from our efforts is at the Indian Design Exports Private Limited (IDEPL). It has been a part of ESIC for 4 years, but employees had very little knowledge about the system.

Deepu, Welfare Officer at IDEPL, shares her experience:

“As a Welfare Officer, workers always reached out to me for support and know-how in accessing ESIS benefits. Unfortunately, I could not provide any guidance as I did not know the process. I was only given one initial employee induction based on which I could share only bare minimum information.

But the 4 months of Capacity Building sessions by the Piramal team has been an eye-opener. I was provided with a user guide that has all relevant information! I am always able to rely on this ready reckoner. We also have additional, well-structured induction sessions. I am now confidently able to support employees with their grievances”

Through such interventions, IDELP has been able to support many other employees, especially the female workforce, in accessing the Maternity Benefit services and sickness benefits offered by ESIS. Such women can now visit the ESIS Hospital for regular health checkups, doctor consultations and medication.
