In the remote village of New Aropo in Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Dibang Valley, an elderly woman had no idea her life was in danger. With severely low haemoglobin levels and no access to medical care, her condition was critical. But like many in her community, she was unaware of the severity and hesitant to seek help.
That changed when our Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) operated in partnership with Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited reached her village. The team not only diagnosed her condition but also provided timely treatment and continued follow-up, ensuring her full recovery.
“We never imagined a doctor would come to our doorstep. Your team saved my mother’s life. We feel seen, cared for, and finally hopeful,” said her family.
Her story is just one among many in Upper Dibang Valley, where MMUs are delivering free healthcare to some of the most inaccessible regions in India. These units provide consultations, diagnostics, and medicines often going door-to-door in areas cut off by landslides, poor roads, and no connectivity.
So far, over 655 patients have been treated and 15+ villages reached with health awareness sessions, transforming not just individual lives, but entire communities in one of the country’s most challenging geographies.
