Employees' State Insurance Scheme
Employees’ State Insurance Scheme of India (ESI) is a multi-dimensional Social Security Scheme to provide socio-economic protection to employees in the organized sector against the events of sickness, maternity, disablement & death due to employment injury and to provide medical care to the insured employees & their families.
To enhance the lives of marginalized communities, we have formed a consortium with Auctus, CMS and Upfront to work towards ESIC transformation.
Components:
- Re-engineering the ESI system to optimize user-experience and pushing for digital adoption.
- Enabling access to health records online
- Process-mapping to identify user pain points
- Streamlining suggestive recommendations to enhance the platform.
We have started targeted pilot interventions in 3 states (Haryana, Maharashtra, Karnataka) across 6 clusters for improved ESIC services. We have strategically chosen these clusters to ensure – heterogenous geographies, dense industrial regions supporting blue-collar workers, presence of comprehensive ESI facility infrastructure and favorable government support.
Building on the learnings, we are now expanding to Assam (Guwahati) and Uttar Pradesh (Kanpur and Lucknow) which will go a long way in strengthening ESIC services.
